What is the Foundation
The Babine River Foundation is a group that was originally formed in the late 80’s and was recently re-grouped in the spring of 2001 in order to provide a single voice for all park use permit holders in the Babine River Corridor Park, and to represent all those who value the wilderness qualities of the Park. Directors of the Babine River Foundation are representatives of the 3 fishing lodges on the Babine River (Babine Norlakes: owners Pierce and Anita Clegg, Babine Steelhead Lodge: owners Chick and Marilyn Stewart & Silver Hilton Steelhead Lodge: owner Steve Myers & representative Lani Waller).
The Babine River Foundation is working to maintain the wilderness values of the river by conducting research, liaising with other organizations and government, and identifying common concerns. The Babine River Foundation is taking the lead in strategic planning and being pro-active in finding solutions.
